I’m a Canadian-certified speech-language pathologist based in Hong Kong.

My practice specializes in preschoolers and school-aged children, with a focus on special-needs children with speech, language and social-communication deficits.

My expertise is in the assessment and treatment of:

I work with both Cantonese and English-speaking preschoolers with speech, language, and social-communication deficits in Hong Kong and China. I offer individual sessions, parent training workshops, and school-outreach services. In addition to direct therapy, I consult on school admissions processes, and learning support schooling options.

Besides the preschool population, I also work with school-aged students at various local and international schools to facilitate literacy skills development, learning readiness, and social functioning.

For my adult caseload, I provide consultation on accent reduction to cater to their professional needs.

Given Hong Kong’s competitive and often limited schooling options, a significant part of my job centres on guiding parents through admissions processes, and providing assistance in determining their children’s mainstream and special-needs schooling options.

I’m certified to implement the following treatment techniques and Cantonese assessment tests:

Picture Exchange
Communication System
Hong Kong Cantonese Oral Language Assessment Scale
Hong Kong Cantonese Articulation Test
Hong Kong Graded Character Naming Test
Social Thinking
Camperdown Program for Adults who Stutter

I spent 2 years researching the Chinese and English reading abilities of children with Down’s syndrome in Hong Kong. I’ve done full-time placements at the Nova Scotia Hearing and Speech Centre, where I treated preschoolers with communication issues, as well as adult patients recovering from strokes and other brain trauma. Since graduate school, I’ve focused on working with Cantonese and English-speaking special-needs children in Hong Kong.
